before all *hail* broke loose... by northy

before all *hail* broke loose...

this is an iphone shot processed using snap seed - no filters added... i'm actually relatively happy with the light and detail... and in a way glad to have pulled this off with my iphone because it was starting to really really pour and i didn't think my nex7 would be up to it... posting as part of my get-pushed challenge this week set by @carolinedreams to improve my iPhone-tography...

a more *me* type shot in my main album: http://365project.org/northy/365/2013-08-02

wanna hear my pathetic tale of *woe*? so i had this idea that i would do the 31 days of geocaching in august... at lunch today i went in search of 3 geocaches and couldn't find any of them...

after work, i had about a half hour, so i went in search of a cache by the humber river... why i thought this was a good idea when it was threatening rain and i was wearing work clothes is a complete mystery to me...

suffice to say i got lost in the bush in a downpour of hail... got soaked clear thru to my skin and looked like a drowned rat walking home...

and i did NOT find the cache... i am 0 for 4 today ;p

oh well - mud washes off and water dries and neither i nor my camera(s) are worse for wear...

happy trails!

This geocaching sounds like too much effort - surely there is a reward? Is this photo, you, in the middle of the bush and the rain coming in?

What a cool, atmospheric picture! Better luck with that caching next time!

You got a great atmospheric shot and of course... love the greens. Your tags are priceless :)

Ah, I see now. Hail. :D Sorry to hear you had a wet adventure, cacheless, even. Better luck next time, eh? Lush shot, tho. :)

It's the quest that counts! Nice soothing greens anyway. For once yesterday I managed to beat the storm

Such a beautiful jungle out there! :)

Looks positively Amazonian - brilliant. Possibly getting a Nex7 for my birthday - will I love it? which lenses do you use? Sometimes my giant Canon with giant lens is just to big to take with me.

None the worse for wear and a nice picture to boot.

First my apologise for getting a little behind but illness in the family prevented from posting yesterday. So catch up today. Smashing photo though, worth the effort I'd say.

@denidouble no need to apologize! hope everything's ok

August 5th, 2013
@summerfield tx :) yeah - not my usual thing... but it was sort of about the eerie light...
August 5th, 2013
That does not sound like a good day. Glad your camera is ok! I like all the lush green here with so much black and just a small opening for light.

Geo-caching sounds so interesting...no time at present though.

Love the depths and rich moodiness of the tones. A lovely restful 'gift' to gaze at.
