Cape Spear, Newfoundland by novab

Cape Spear, Newfoundland

We hiked the East Coast Trail from Cape Spear to Maddox Cove (approx. 10 km) on this beautiful day. Thank goodness we parked a car on each end, as I'm not sure I'd be up for 20 km. :) Can you spot the 4 people in this picture?
You must be so fit Nova! We went to Cape Spear by car and while Louise and a Ken walked up all the steps to the lighthouse I went down to the cliff edge. This is where I saw three whales water spouts as they cruised along in the bay close to shore. Sadly they didn't breach. A great place to visit! Fav!

@pamknowler Pam, I'm not so sure of how fit I am, but we did do lots of hiking. We too saw many whales along the shoreline. It's such a fabulous sight to see, and I'm glad you had that opportunity too. :)

@Weezilou Louise you would have to start the hike to Maddox Cove to get this view of the old lighthouse. We were quite a distance away at this point. There are 4 people in this shot, but are so tiny they are almost invisible.
