Lots of ice by novab

Lots of ice

This is in Middle Cove, Newfoundland. The snow was melting and running off the cliff, which created this amazing ice creation.

It was spectacular site to see, my girl wanted to climb as high as she could, but her mother (me) would not allow it. :)
Stunning view.

Thanks for your kind words. It was very cold, but worth the short hike to get there. :)

Dear Nova, this is my absolute favorite from your spring holyday series. Middle cove must be a lucky spot. Amazing this ice creation. So well captured and with your lovely daughter, you have a good scale. Fav for me in many ways. First of course, because it is a beautiful pic ture. 2. Personally for me,... as you know we spent the last tree years our summer holidays on NFL "the rocks" and we always started at middle cove (in a way). After fetching the camper at Paddys Pond we stayed the first night at Middle Pond, before heading out of town. In the first year we saw our first real iceberg with propper dimensions there, while a strom was rattling over us, in the second year there have been humpbacks (the most significant reason for our travels to Newfoundland) in the bay, and last year, we were lucky enough to be there on the right time and experience the caplins scull. So Middle Cove means a lot to me. Even if that's not the real wilderness, which we seek. Your picture makes me wish to visit this cove in winter,...

Mona, I’m so happy you like my shots and they bring back nice memories for you. I too have been to middle cove during the warmer months to see the caplin, but my timing was off.
I don’t often go to NL in the winter, (usually for Christmas in the past), but have never ventured outside to capture images. This 365project, has opened my eyes to the beauty of the winter season, which in the past I was happy to view from a warm distance.
You may just have to go back again.
Thanks for sharing your story with me. :)
