Catching stars by novab

Catching stars

Stars
I see them everyday
They are precious little lights
If you do not look, you will never see them glowing in the darkness of night

They hide.............
But they want to be seen
Just look inside yourself and you will find them
They are yours to catch.

by me.

Best viewed on black if you have an extra moment.
Very creative and beautifully executed Nova, lovely words something to ponder on:)

I started to write the same thing as Peter @peterlgrave I believe it was Perry Como who sang that it my childhood days. I like this a lot Nova. It is especially nice on the black background.

"Catch a Falling Star"...loved everything by Perry Como! (Where are our crooners?!) Your own words are lovely! AND...is that your hand? Beautifully groomed and so so youthful! (I'm both saddened and shocked with the look of my hands in photos these days!)

@Weezilou Thanks so much Louise, yes, it is my hand and I know how it will look in 30 years, as I've got the same ones as my mother. :)

Fav! I found this photo by doing a search on the 365 site for bokeh as I'm trying to do something similar with a D3200 and I can't figure out how to do it for the life of me.

@mej2011 Hi Melissa, here is how I did it:
I taped a string of lights to the wall (about 3 ft behind my little table), got my macro lens and homemade bokeh filter, focused on an object on a table, set the timer on my camera (on a tripod), turned down the lights, balanced my arm on a kleenex box and came up with this.
You have to use the widest aperture you can on your 18-55 lens (3.5 I think) and focus on a point closer to the camera than the wall. If you don't make a homemade bokeh filter, that's ok, you can still get bokeh circle shapes.
If you google "how to make bokeh filters", there are many YouTube video out there to assist.
I wish you luck and if you do post a pic, could you please tag me, as I'd love to see how yours turns out. Have fun!
