Konnerud mines are located in Drammen, where silver, lead and copper were mined. Some bismuth, arsenic and cobalt were also found. They started work in 1731, but didn’t run for very many years, and ended in 1789. They attempted to start again 80 years later, but it lasted for only one year. Later some few attempts were made, but they were not successful. The Konnerudverket Foundation started in 1991 the reconstruction of the facility to create "an active museum inside and outside the mine holes in Konnerudkollen.
The snow on the sign and trees attracted me to take this picture. The road to the mines is closed by the huge amount of snow. I would like to go there during summer, to see if I can get some good pictures.
