Froggy The Great by oldjosh

Froggy The Great

This frog is in Rushcliff country park; a poem has been placed beside it

Froggy the Great

I am a wooden froggy
I sit quite still all day.
Some people come and talk to me
And this is what they say:
We like to touch your polished skin,
Your glassy eyes are such a treat.
But best of all we do admire
Your lovely great big feet.

At night I dream that I’m set free,
I leave this spot beneath this tree,
I hop around and check the lake,
I swim and search, make no mistake,
Surely, surely, there must be
Another froggy just like me.

@thresheg @gilbertwood @happysnaps @susiemc Thank you all for your comments, I have seen the frog before, children climb all over it but the poem, which I thought was fun is new.
