A very pleasant spot despite:-
To the right is a busy road bridge.
To the left the railway that goes to Newark Castle station.
Just beyond the metal fence, coming under the road bridge is the main line connecting Newark Northgate Station to London and the North.
The noise of the weir drowned out most of the other noise.
