The sculpture is inspired by the movement of a BMX catching Air as it takes off from a quarter pipe in an action sequence that expresses the enjoyment of young people preforming their favourite tricks on bikes scooters & skateboeards in Brookwood Park.
The construction also echoes the iron & steel, aviation & locomotive engineering history of Newton Heath. (so the notice informed me)
