Geosteps

National Stone Centre, Derbyshire The risers of the steps show many examples of British Rocks mainly in order of their ages. The treads are all of Hopton wood stone, still quarried not far from the centre. Some important rock types such as chalk and Bath stone are missing as they would not survive the harsh Peak District winters.
