The heron in the photo 'on Guard' flew over the fence and sat on a branch in the pond. It then took off, flew over the fence at the other side of the pond onto the grass.

@gilbertwood@happysnaps@susiemc Thank you all for your comments, I followed its flight with my camera but then could not decide which shot to use so this solved the problem.
