Industrial Remains

Remains of timber ponds.
Stretching up the Clyde from Port Glasgow were many docks and boat builders. At the beginning of the 18 century massive lengths of timber were imported and used by the local sawmills and shipbuilders. The timber would be stored in the timber ponds to be seasoned by the salt water.
