Top; Stanford Farm and barn. Bottom left the end of the barn can be seen beyond the house, bottom right houses to the right of the farmhouse. The road is quite busy and narrow with footpath only on one side, it was difficult to take photos and was I unable to take one of the building with the weathervane (see https://365project.org/oldjosh/additional/2017-03-02)
I could not find out much about the village
At the 2011 census its population was 128
Richard Ratcliff, a brewer from Burton-on-Trent bought Stanford Hall in 1887.
Many of the houses were built by Richard Ratcliff whose initials are on some of the houses
@dsp2@happysnaps@susiemc@koalagardens Thank you all for your comments I did all this in about 25 minutes getting off one bus and on the next one.
Dinah, it may be fascinating but a bit dangerous, the path and houses are on one side of this narrow busy road. I had to take them from the other side
