As a Councillor representing Lancaster Gate Ward between 1988 and 2008 Sir Simon held the regeneration of Paddington close to his heart and as Leader of the Council he was instrumental in ensuring that the plans for breathing new life into Paddington became reality
In 2008 Sir Simon became the Deputy Mayor of London for Policy and Planning and subsequently the Mayor of London’s Chief of Staff.
