The village has Saxon origins, having a Saxon Manor owned by Unfac and Saxon burials were found near the Foss Way a roman road and now the A46
The village has never had its own church but is recorded as a township in the nearby parish of Plumtree. (sign to come)
I have not explored the village; the sign was taken from the bus on my way to Melton Mowbray.
