I saw this really interesting artwork on the paths and laneways in Maitland yesterday. I will have to go back another day and see if there is more.
I thought it had an Aztec feel to it.
I said I couldn't find anything about this art but here is an update. This artwork is created by Patricia Van Lubeck and here is a link to her website.
I have found these three artworks so far and looking at her website there are two more in this particular design. I did take a photo of a couple more artworks of hers and I will post them over the next two days.

@olivetreeann She uses StreetBond paint especially for use painting on asphalt and pavers etc which is also used for road markings so is quite durable.
