On the side of the bay where I live the ocean is sheltered and no strong surf but at Anna Bay and Fingal Bay which is on the open ocean side of the bay the surf is quite strong, so swimmers and surfers are thankful lifeguards are on duty to save people in trouble.
@wakelys@pamknowler@nigelrogers@happypat@casablanca Thanks. It was quite early and they were just setting up. The lifeguards were set up further along the beach and today I will be posting a photo of the flags they put up for swimmers to swim between.
There are two lifeguards on duty actually on the beach and more on higher ground at the Surf Lifesaving Club on lookout for sharks. There are a few sharks around at the moment because it is mullet season. There weren't any swimmers but there were a few surfers.
