The rainbow lorikeets almost fight the other birds for meat when I feed the currawongs, butcher birds and kookaburras in our garden, but this one seems to be sharing quite nicely with the currawong.
So good to see birds with table manners and sharing so nicely - fab shot and a fav!

What a great combination of birds.

I hope those birds realise how fortunate they are landing in your garden!

@beryl @ludwigsdiana @wakelys @sangwann @joansmor @pcoulson @briaan @louannwarren @johnfalconer @mittens @rensala @busylady @carole_sandford @haskar @olivetreeann @k9photo @tunia @radiogirl @randystreat @ingrid01 @shutterbug49 @bkbinthecity Believe it or not it was the currawong who was the nervous one even though it is bigger than the lorikeet. Lorikeets are feisty and don't share easily. They rule the roost in our garden.

@happysnaps I didn't know lorikeets ate meat either until they started chasing off the other birds to get to it.

@pusspup It is strange watching them eating it too, they don't have the right beaks for meat and it is as though they are eating chewing gum

@helenhall They know how fortunate they are, they have me well trained.

@maggiemae It is minced meat. I buy cheap mince to feed the currawongs, the kookaburras, butcher birds and noisy miner birds and now the lorikeets have got in on the act too.
