Fort Scratchley

Another photo from our trip to Newcastle yesterday for our girlie lunch.

I took this photo on the ferry from Stockton to Newcastle.

On top of the hill you can see Fort Scratchley, a former coastal defence installation and now a museum. It was built in 1882.

@ludwigsdiana Yes I have been there many times. They have regular events there including re-enactments. And also an annual open air classical event that ends with playing the 1812 Overture and they fire the guns. It is interesting to visit without an event too.

Thanks, we had a lovely day out and a beautiful lunch too. The temperature was around 21 degrees c, not bad for the second day of winter.
