Pied Cormorant by onewing

Pied Cormorant

After such a grey morning, this afternoon turned out to be really sunny and quite warm.

David just had to have a Bunnings fix this afternoon, so I asked him to drop me off in Nelson Bay on the way so I could take a photo for today's 365. I wandered down to the breakwater and this pied cormorant had just landed and was spreading his wings out to dry.
Great shot Babs, Always something interesting going on down at the breakwater.

Bunnings or photography . . . I like both (I really enjoy wandering around Bunnings!!!), but on a sunny afternoon I would take photography by the sea anytime!! Great shot but he looks a bit camera shy!

Lovely shot of one of my favourite birds, but rarely seen here ... and then only the all black variety, so thanks for sharing this.

@joluise Thanks Jo. He wasn't shy at all he was watching the fisherman just next to us in case a late lunch came his way.

@winnedreamer You are right there about the breakwater. I went out with one thing in mind and saw something else again. Happens every time.

@wordpixman My pleasure Arthur. It was a toss up between this or another pelican and the cormorant won.

@rhos We get lots of cormorants here, wherever you have got people fishing there they are.
@elaine55 @bugsy Thanks Elain and Heather. He was keeping his eye on the fisherman next to us.
