Same seat, different plane. by onewing

Same seat, different plane.

Took this from the plane leaving Melbourne. Don't let the sun fool you, it was 8 degrees C at Melbourne Airport.

@gerry Thanks Gerry I did have a nice few days at my daughter's. She is the one who lives in Melbourne. I am home again now. The photo on the 22 July was me flying down there. It is a lot warmer now I am home. We live further north. Thanks for the fav.

No matter how cold, it is always better to see sunshine than grey. We had minus 6 this morning but it turned into quite a nice (cold) day with the sun shining.

Smashing! I love looking out of aircraft windows but I know that whichever side of the plane I sit the captain will say "for those of you on the "x" side (i.e. the opposite side from where I am sitting) you can see..."

Excellent aircraft window shot. Invariably I find I have a window partly opaque because of scratches which cause fuzzy images and the sun flaring.

Great view of Melbourne Babs, and I agree 8 degrees is too cold, @joluise minus 6 is even worse and I am complaining at about 17 that it's too cold.

@steampowered I always to seem t sit on the same side as you Paul! However I prefer the aisle seat so that I can get up and down.

Beautiful scene on the way out!

So cool how the sun is lighting up the city for you.

Love these airplane shots! what a a beautiful city!!!! Good one!!

I love this!! so pretty

Awesome cityscape capture! Lucky you!
July 26th, 2013
@joluise Oh Jo. Move somewhere warmer!!! minus 6 degrees is not right for Australia. I did that in the UK!!!
July 26th, 2013
@steampowered Thanks Paul. Know what you mean about the seating on planes, but on these flights you can choose your seat which is what I did. I knew which side I wanted and also knew I wanted the wing in the shot. Turned out well weatherwise too.

@davidgnc I had a couple of shots with sun flare and generally the windows were relatively scratch free
July 26th, 2013
@elaine55 8 degrees is too cold. We used to live in Melbourne, but when David was posted to Williamtown with the RAAF we stayed here!!!

@angelat @angelar @sbolden @humphreyhippo @eyesmile @lafish @sunraye Thanks everyone for your lovely comments. I was really lucky that the city was sunlit for this photo. Even if it was a bit chilly down there it was nice to see the sun.

Oh! I couldn't live in Melbourne, Looks great in the photo, but as 'they' say the best part of Melbourne is the road to Sydney, or in your case the flight to Newcastle.
July 26th, 2013
Perfectly composed and taken Babs with just the right amount of airplane wing framing the shot. The light is really good on the buildings.

@winnedreamer I love Melbourne. Lived there for 6 years and prefer it to Sydney, but it does get cold and it is so busy so it was nice to get back to Port Stephens. Less people here!! Melbourne is brilliant for photos though.

@paulaw Thanks Paula. Only had a few seconds to get this shot and the plane banked to the right just as I was taking it. Was thankful for the sun shining at the right moment.

Nice one!
