Up up and away. by onewing

Up up and away.

Today my sister Anita left Western Australia bound for the UK so this photo which I took a while ago seems appropriate.

Anita will check out my 365 project when she gets home I am sure, so if you see this, hope you had a safe journey home.

Today is also our Mum's birthday and if she had still been alive she would have been 99 years old today.

So Anita, while you are up in the clouds if you come across Mum flying by on a cloud with her halo and harp, give her a wave. Miss you both.
Lovely shot. It must be sad that your sister is flying back half way around the world. Perhaps you should come and visit (then I would get the chance to meet you too maybe!)

Jo
I have a brother who lives in the USA and whenever he comes to Australia (which isn't very often) it is so hard to say good bye. And he finds it very hard to farewell our parents as they are now ageing and with him so far away he really feels the distances.

It must be very hard for you to say goodbye Babs, but am sure you have lots of lovely, happy memories of Anita's trip, and lots of photos too! And with Skype and Facetime, the world is a smaller place these days, although it's still not as good as the real thing.

You brought a tear to my eye with this, Babs. Hope Anita is safe- you seem to have had an amazing time with her and how lovely she could stay so long.

Awesome capture and very fitting with your sentiments today. Hard to say good bye for now, until we meet again. I'm glad you had a wonderful visit and made new memories with your sister. Safe travels wished for your sister.

Hope you're doing OK Babs, must have been very hard when your sister went home and on your Mum's birthday too. When I lived in Germany when the children were small I always found it difficult and very flat when family and friends who had come out to see us went back home. I really hope you can get to see each other again before too long. I like the silvery blue tones in this pic.

@steampowered @joluise @jackie8 @humphreyhippo @joeyc @eyesmile @angelar @zenna @angelat @sunraye @paulaw Sorry for the group reply and thank you all for your lovely comments. I am sure Anita will read this when she recovers from her jet lag. I spoke to her yesterday and she has arrived home safely although she phoned at 3.30 am her time as she was wide awake. Luckily it was a reasonable time here!!!
I am just thankful that our drama's at the moment happened after she had gone home and not while she was here in Oz. It would have been really awful if it had spoilt her holiday.
We had such a wonderful time together and maybe I will venture back to the UK some time next year. (Only in summertime though).

Didn't realize how far behind I am, It was so great to meet Anita, and spend the little time I did with her, but lovely memories of a very special person. Thanks for sharing her with me Babs.
