I am amazed how these people manage to lop trees and just hold on with ropes around their middle and have spikes attached to their shoes to hold on to the tree by their feet.
I watched this chap lop a neighbours tree and after each section was lopped he just let go of the chain saw (which was still running), caught the piece of tree mid fall and then threw it to the ground. The chain saw, swinging on the end of a rope, was then hauled back up by him to start on the next section of the tree. How he has still got all his arms and legs I don't know. I was very impressed!!
These chaps always amaze me with their agility. Reminds me of the time we had visitors and were trying to enjoy a nice coffee outside. One of the neighbours had some tree people in who I don't think were particularly well qualified. Huge lumps of tree trunk were crashing to the ground and the whole ground shook, this was accompanied by some choice language. What with that and the chainsaw we retreated inside for our coffee. Ps I know you have a great sense of humour so think you would appreciate the name of our tree surgeons we use - The Tree Fella!!! Perhaps you could sell this one to the company for their website!
@eyesmile Thanks Gena. This was only a small tree you should see some of the larger ones. We had to have 2 huge trees taken out last year and the chaps who did that job were amazing. Each chunk of the tree landed in exactly the right spot and not a single plant in the garden was damaged. I was really impressed.
@jackie8@humphreyhippo@angelar@lafish@derekvickers Thanks so much. Not a job I could do. It is scary enough watching my husband using our chain saw when he is chopping wood for our wood burner fire and he does that with two feet on the ground. Watching this chap was really scary.
