Friday people photo again and today’s photo is of a friend of mine, taken as a group of us were on our trek across the sand dunes to Tin City, which featured in yesterday’s photo.
She isn’t really in need of water or dying of thirst, she is taking a photo of sand would you believe.
If you look carefully you can see another of our group of friends in the distance.
Sorry for my lack of commenting in the last couple of days, but I wasn’t too well yesterday. I am feeling much better today though and hopefully will be able to catch up tonight.
Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on my recent photos. I have read all the comments, just not really felt up to sitting at the computer to reply to each of them though.
The perspective is great. It looks a bit like the Sahara desert. It is interesting to note that this i how I have taken photos for years - on my haunches or on my belly - for wild ground orchids or fungi - so her pose looks extremely natural to me.
Great shot Babs, love the composition and perspective, wonderful blue sky against the sand will have to get a drink now, pleased your now feeling Tickety-Boo;)
Ha ha Babs your friend looks like she is on her last legs staggering up that sand .....Ice cold in Alex comes to mind!!
It looks a bit scary as I can't see any civilisation at all....you could be miles into the desert for all I know!
Glad you are feeling better!
@derekvickers@wearing0@neatz@beryl@net@ethelperry@quietpurplehaze@lpot1985@kwiksilver@pcoulson@dianeburns@gerry@happypat@karlow75 Thank you all so much. Sorry for the group reply, but it is getting late and I am almost ready for bed.
I am feeling much better tonight, thanks for your good wishes.
Stockton dunes are about 32 km long and stretch from Anna Bay to Newcastle. We all had twigs and branches and stuck them in the sand at intervals so we could find our way back to the cars. From where we were parked it is about a 6 km trek to Tin City over the dunes and it is pretty hard going on the legs because the sand is so soft and as you can see the dunes are huge.
