Hanging out to dry

It has been a sunny day today, but quite chilly, so I was quite impressed that this bunch of Queenslanders (judging by the car number plate) were brave enough to go out in the surf.

Much cooler here than in Queensland so they must have very thick skin, or thick wetsuits at least.
Sue
Yeesh, good on them! I don't do cold water anymore! Great shot Babs.

Perhaps they're Brits! Nice shot, I like the trainers on the roof!

Brits ? Paula W I dont do water unless its very very warm (but then I guess Im a Gurn (Guernsey person) so it doesnt count as a total Brit) lol

Every picture tells a story -- or so they say Babs -- this one certainly does !! -- must be youth with fire in their blood !!
June 29th, 2015
So crazy! They must be tourists from Iceland!

Sam
I'm guessing if they make there way to Melbourne, they will still go surfing!

such a funny one, more typical in summer for sure, but then you never know what those Qlders will get up to:)
June 29th, 2015
Lovin" this... It has me singing some beach boy tunes
June 29th, 2015
Rather them than me but I bet they had fun! Go, the Beach Boys!
June 29th, 2015
Fun, colorful capture...I'm thinking Beach Boys too :)
June 29th, 2015
Great fun capture
June 29th, 2015
Great fun capture!
June 29th, 2015
Makes one think of summer! Splendid find.
June 29th, 2015
A nice mix of colours. Tells a story too.
June 29th, 2015
Just how I imagine a proper surfers truck to look like ....the flowers & the towels draped there...even the deck shoes on the roof! Hardy types!
June 29th, 2015
Cool shot.
June 29th, 2015
Fun shot!
June 29th, 2015
Great find

@sioux I don't do cold either. The temperature was around 19 degrees c on land and I believe that is about the same as the sea temperature at the moment. Much too cold for me to have a dip.
June 30th, 2015
Lovely shot Babs
June 30th, 2015
Perfect shot of real life!
June 30th, 2015
Fun and colorful shot. So what is cold or "cool" for you?
June 30th, 2015
I think it's called Youth!
June 30th, 2015
@paulaw @mbmomentsintime They were definitely Aussie's because they said "G'day" when I spoke to them after I took this photo.
June 30th, 2015
@beryl Must be mad I'd say, the water must have been pretty chilly.
June 30th, 2015
@888rachel They were beginning to look a bit blue.
June 30th, 2015
@gigiflower You could be right Sam. They were quite young and couldn't feel the cold.
June 30th, 2015
@pusspup @photohoot @chrysanthemum @seattlite Surfers are out there whatever the weather aren't they. The temperature did reach about 18 degrees that day, but this was late afternoon so I guess it was around 16 C by then.
June 30th, 2015
@bristol_colin @craftymeg @salza @dolphin Thanks. Even though it is winter this shot definitely had a touch of summer feeling about it.
June 30th, 2015
@happypat Surfers just don't seem to feel the cold. Even Queenslander surfers.
June 30th, 2015
@mittens @loweygrace @bkbinthecity @tonygig @sandcrush They were the only surfers out that day. The sea must be pretty chilly.
June 30th, 2015
@eyesmile Cool that day was around 16 degrees c by the late afternoon when this was taken (60f) and the temperature has been going down to about 9 degrees C (48f), so pretty chilly for us.
June 30th, 2015
@chimfa You are right Jane.
June 30th, 2015
Great capture full of colour and interest Babs, judging from the single shoe a one legged surfer from Queensland in the party, lol:)
June 30th, 2015
