Another shot from the Celtic Festival on Saturday. The helmets are so heavy. I tried one on and nearly buckled at the knees.
My ancestors were Viking apparently and I thank God that I don't have to wear a helmet like this. My neck couldn't cope with the weight. If neck problems are hereditary, no wonder I have got neck troubles now if my lot had to wear this gear and chain mail too.
hAHAHAHA...would love to have seen a selife of you wearing one of those. Nicely composed. My Mother's Dad was from Norway...her maiden name was Vike. Would love to go there someday. Of course we have French, German and Irish blood also! American's ya know!
@chimfa No shot of me wearing the helmet unfortunately. I was on my own there. Because I can't drive at the moment, and David had to be somewhere else, he dropped me off and then picked me up again later when I was Celted out.
They did re-enactments at the festival too and these shields and helmets took quite a hammering. Good job they are quite tough.
