Day 4 of our cruise to New Zealand and here we have reached Milford Sound. Absolutely stunning scenery as we sailed through the Fiordlands of South Island.
Stunning scenery as I said, but it was so cold.
No need to comment on these photos as they are just a record of our holiday.
@bizziebeeme Thanks Laura, we did enjoy our cruise. We left on the 8th December and returned yesterday. There were 42 of us from our U3A group on the cruise and we had a great time. Unfortunately, a few of us picked up NZ germs along the way and got home with colds and coughs. I only felt rough yesterday, so it didn't spoil our trip. Don't feel too good today though.
What an absolutely stunning shot. The cloud around the peak is such a good capture. Beautiful composition and the small boat makes a good perspective. This reminds me of the Norwegian fjords. Fav
This looks like the prowe of a massive ship looming out of the cloud! How tiny the littke ship on the water looks in comparison. I am hoping we get time to get as far down as Milford or even Doubtful Sound but time always runs away with us. Interesting to see this photo.
@happysnaps Thanks Valerie. It really is beautiful, but take lots of winter woollies with you, it is so cold. Take a beanie too as your head will be cold.
@happypat I hope you do get there Pat, it is so beautiful. Will you be sailing? We went in through Milford Sound first then on to Thompson Sound and out through Doubtful and then round Resolution Island and Dusky Sound. The most spectacular for me though was Milford. Take lots of winter clothes with you and a beanie as it is bloody cold.
@onewing interesting to hear you say Milford was the best because if we do one of the will make sure it's that. I doubt we will have time just depends how long it takes us to drive found....always longer than you think! We are visiting grandchildren on South Island too so depends how much time they have off work.
