Pick Up Sticks by onewing

Pick Up Sticks

Who remembers the game Pick up Sticks, well here in Picton there is a huge game of pick up sticks going on.

In Port Chalmers we saw the containers being off loaded from the ships and now in Picton timber is being exported from New Zealand to other parts of the world.

Great game and a fun title Babs. Such a huge amount of tree trunks. All such a uniform shape and size.

I'd give this shot a "tilt shift" effect. Still an interesting image all the same.

So much timber, hope they plenty of younger stock to replace the exported timber. I like how they are stacked so neatly :)

I love this shot. Glad to know we are not the only ones to like this. Ed and I stood for about half an hour just watching all this going on! At the time I thought we were crazy!

Sort of 'Pick Up Sticks for Adults'. Now I recon my mum's still got hers somewhere. I bet this would look equally fab in b&w, Babs!?

This is fantastic! And what a perfect comparison to the game. I like how your POV has made these huge logs seem like sticks.

@chimfa I watched it for ages too. The cruise ship was moored just by the timber yard. I watched until the thought of a fruit flan and a cup of tea beckoned.

@happypat We weren't on the ferry Pat we were on the cruise ship. It was moored right next to the timber yard.

Sorry for the group reply again, but I am still busy spring, or rather summer cleaning our house. The next step is to start painting our bedroom, the lounge room and the dining room.

It was fabulous to watch all the action here. This photo was taken from the cruise ship as it was moored right next to the timber yard.

By the way the driver didn't drop a single log.
