We have been out all day today at Tocal with friends of ours and although I took lots of photos, I thought I had better post this one taken on our way home.
John, one of our friends, who was driving, told me about this truck as he had seen it earlier and as he risked life and limb in traffic for me to get this photo I thought I would use this as today's picture.
I will post other photos from Tocal later in the week, but John usually checks out my 365 project so here we are with this one.
Thanks John and thanks for a lovely day.
At least this lovely truck has found a marvellous retirement spot and has escaped to the country.
@bizziebeeme I know the problem. John had to pull over in a driveway and the do a u turn to the driveway of this house. I got out took the photo and then he did another u turn to carry on our merry way.
Wonderful composition, tones and textures Babs, It may not stay for long as these trucks get older they became more valued as a restoration project, just in need of some TLC:)
A beautiful retirement spot for this faithful and hardworking old truck , Great rusty relic , I love the rust tones and textures against the lush green of its surroundings -- well done John for being able to stop for you I usually find things of interest where there is no hope of stopping !
There must be more to the story than this Babs, I think this old truck must have a remarkable tale behind it to be put here for all to see in pride of place!
Glad I'm not alone with request stops, it's better when you have a driver who doesn't mind u-turns! This was well worth the stop, I like the colours. It looks like it deserves to be in retirement though.
Lucky you had a driver that would stop for you, my husband is hopeless. There is usually an excuses such as 'there's no where to turn round' or 'there's a car right behind me' and by the time he finds somewhere to turn we are about 2 miles down the road!!! Great shot by the way and well worth the U turn.
David pulls over for me too so I can take photos, but John is the friend we went out with not my husband, he was doing the driving today.
There must be some history to this truck as it really has pride of place at the front of this property. A beautiful setting for the end of its life.
