Queens Wharf Tower by onewing

Queens Wharf Tower

Today's photo is of the Queens Wharf Tower in Newcastle where I took the photo of the Notorious from in yesterday's shot.

The tower was built in 1988,
Height - 40.3 metres (132.21 feet)
Steps - 180
Observation Deck - 30 metres (98.42 feet)
Architect - Kevin Snell Partners
A wonderful capture, Babs, looks a great place to visit. Even better on black...

I can imagine that the view must be rather splendid from the observation deck. I bet some folks really struggle with the 180 steps though.

@hermann Great view from the observation deck, but no good for photos at that level. It is closed in with Perspex and people have scratched it. Lots of photos on the way up and down though on the stairs.

@salza Thanks Sally. Most people who climbed to the top were pretty fit.

@ladymagpie Definitely no lift Heather.

@rjb71 Yes it is popular. closed at 6 pm though and closed during strong winds. There was quite a swing on it the day we climbed and that was a calm day.

@eyesmile Yes definitely winter Gena. It was a beautiful day and the temperature reached 20 degrees C (68 f). Our winters aren't too bad really and the good thing is that even in winter it isn't winter every day as you can see.
