I put seed out for the birds and after the lorikeets and the crested pigeons have had their fill the eastern rosellas arrive.
They are so jumpy that the slightest noise seems to make them fly away again.
The only camera I could find quickly was my little p&s. I had to take this photo with lots of zoom, through glass, because if I attempted to open the sliding door of the family room I knew this bird would make a quick exit.
There's hardly a colour not on this gorgeous bird.. So beautiful.. that would brighten any day for me.. Well done with managing to make the image. it doesn't look like it is through glass..
Fabulous aren't they. We don't get them in Bris and they are replaced by their very close relative, the Pale Headed Rosella which is also very timid and skittish
