Sword Fight

Little Beach is a popular spot for pelicans. They always congregate here by the boat ramp because there is a fish cleaning station (you can see it in the background) where people can gut and clean their catch of the day. Of course, people always throw the off cuts to the pelicans.

In this picture you can see just how fierce competition can get. The pelican on the right caught the fish and the one on the left is trying to remove it from his beak.

I had to get quite close to take this shot and other pelicans were wanting to get in on the act at times too. The pelican on the right managed to hang on to his fish and it all ended well.
