Little Beach is a popular spot for pelicans. They always congregate here by the boat ramp because there is a fish cleaning station (you can see it in the background) where people can gut and clean their catch of the day. Of course, people always throw the off cuts to the pelicans.
In this picture you can see just how fierce competition can get. The pelican on the right caught the fish and the one on the left is trying to remove it from his beak.

And the gulls are left out of the fight completely from the looks of things. Beautiful shot and it is always the everyday struggle for the survival of the fittest
