Thanks so much for putting John's photo on the TP and the PP yesterday. It is such a shame that I can't tell him he is now world famous.
Today I visited Elizabeth, John's wife in the care home and took her out to Nelson Bay for a cuppa and a walk to the marina and breakwater.
It has been a lovely day today and I think she really enjoyed her morning out at this sad time. She seems to be coping reasonably well, but she does have Alzheimer's and I don't think she fully appreciates that John has gone for good.
You can see in this photo at the marina just how calm the water was. We walked around to the breakwater and saw dolphins swimming in the ocean and pelicans flying overhead.
The daffodils are beginning to flower, so Spring is just around the corner.
This is lovely, Babs. It is wonderful of you to spend time with Elizabeth. So often when someone has Alzheimer’s, people ignore them completely. I know she loved the outing.
@maggiemae@golftragic This is the cheap end of the marina, you should see some of the boats in the other berths. The price tag on those would make your eyes water.
Good of you to take your friend's wife out. I guess it's the one time that having Alzheimer's is a blessing. A friend of Ed's wife was in the same situation and coped with her husbands funeral better than most of the other mourners. So sorry Babs.
Long busy day tomorrow too, so I may be limited with 365 for the next few days. Will catch up when I can.
