Hazy Evening by onewing

Hazy Evening

No time for taking photos today, another busy day. I have been to the cinema this afternoon with a friend to see On Chesil Beach and just got home.

I took this photo a couple of evenings ago from the Gan Gan lookout when the air was still pretty thick with bushfire smoke. You can see that it is still quite hazy.

The Shoal Bay fire is out now and the Salt Ash one is under control.

It is nice to see the Gymea lilies flowering in the foreground and our house is off in the top left half of this photo in the dip on the other side of the hill.

Lovely view ... but not so lovely that it's made more so from the bush fires... unusual flower.. don't know that one..

I like the juxtaposition of the wildness with the township. Lovely overview.

What a very pretty composition. I haven't seen those flowers before either, what a rich colour.

These would be wild lilies and as such, just so beautiful and with the background, a happy photo!

@julzmaioro @casablanca @maggiemae Gymea lilies are endemic to New South Wales I think and can grow to between 2 metres and 4 metres tall.

I like the bright colour of the flowers, shame the lovely muted colours in background are caused by the bushfires though.

I really like your POV, showing so much. The wild flowerd, the village, the sea and beyond. It's good to have an update on the fires.

Gorgeous light & the flowers are amazingly sharp, fab centre stage! Was Chesil Beach worth seeing, I bought the book in Hamilton & enjoyed it. Think I would like the time & era of the film.
