Orange Lacewing Butterfly by onewing

Orange Lacewing Butterfly

I have never had much luck chasing and photographing butterflies, but while we were in Coffs Harbour last month we dropped in at the Butterfly House. It is much easier to photograph them when you have a captive audience.

I believe this is an orange lacewing, but maybe somebody could correct me if I am wrong.

Over the next few days I will be posting photos of butterflies, because I am a bit short on time at the moment to have the opportunity of taking new photos.

I am feeling a bit flat right now too, so much going on here and my phojo is rather low.
He is lovely.
I hope you start to improve. But you have had a busy few weeks. Take time for yourself.

We had a butterfly farm near us until a bypass was built and it had to close due to lack of support. Can you put a name to this little beauty?

Great capture Babs. I look forward to your butterfly shots....and I'll get you back in a couple of months when we get our own version of Butterfly House (a four week exhibit at Wild Animal Park).

What wonderful markings. I suppose the advantage of going to the Butterfly House, apart from the obvious one that there are butterflies there, is that you find out what sort of butterfly they are too. Nice depth of field too.

She's beautiful! I love butterfly houses for just this closeness I would never get in real life. Though some of them have large arachnids in and I won't go in those!! Love the colours on this beauty.

@365projectorgjenfurj @dide @ludwigsdiana @bella_ss @inthecloud5 @helenhall @jgpittenger @olivetreeann @samae Thanks. It was very warm and humid in the butterfly house. Glad I don't have to work there, but it was lovely to see so many different species in one place.

I will bounce back soon , just had a lot to deal with over the last couple of months and it has all caught up with me at the moment.

@dave1947 I think it is an orange lacewing

@gilbertwood @pusspup @brennieb @pistache @Dawn @beryl @peterday @louannwarren @pdulis @casablanca @merrelyn @quietpurplehaze @henrir @radiogirl @mittens @paul10 @pcoulson @craftymeg @carolmw @jacqbb @bizziebeeme @sailingmusic @kwind @pyrrhula @tonygig Thanks, it was still hard work to chase the butterflies around the butterfly house and it was so warm and humid in there, but at least it was a smaller area to chase them in. We had a lovely cuppa and a scone in the café afterwards.

@stray_shooter Look forward to your butterfly shots Ron.

@ulla It is much easier isn't it.

@jeneurell Yes there was a chart saying what variety they were but I didn't get all of them.

@hermann we don't get too many here either.
February 20th, 2019
Oh wow Babs, you may have missed your vocation.
February 20th, 2019
Sam
I love chasing butterflies!
February 20th, 2019
@golftragic No I haven't Marnie I was knackered once I had chased them around the butterfly house, it was so hot and humid in there.

@gigiflower I think I am cured now of chasing butterflies.
February 20th, 2019
Sam
@onewing Now to start chasing birds!
February 20th, 2019
@gigiflower not on your life, I have seen your chasing birds photos and that looks distinctly like hard work.
February 20th, 2019
Sam
@onewing Hard work yes. Frustrating, even more so!
February 20th, 2019
Beautiful butterfly. It is so clear. I hope you start to feel better soon. It is so important that you take time and look after yourself when lots are going on.
February 20th, 2019
@onewing You're a legend anyway, Babs.
