Silky Oak by onewing

Silky Oak

On my way home from Fingal Bay I had to stop the car and take a photo of this magnificent tree.

The silky oak is one of David's favourite trees.
It is a big tree! I thought I had learnt that the silky oak had shallow roots. I might have the wrong silky tree!

Beautiful. Is this a native Australian tree? The Dutch translation is 'zilver eik' (silver oak).

@maggiemae Yes I believe silky oaks do have shallow roots and they also head for the drainage pipes if too close to houses too.
