Today's street art is titled ‘Shadow’ by street artist Fintan Magee, for the Big Picture festival.
This work is alongside a statue of Australia’s first female mayor faces Civic park and the old civic train station in central Newcastle. The piece, according to the artist, explores the role of deindustrialisation, isolation, renewal and the new work force in post-industrial Australian cities.
I hope you are enjoying this series of artworks, I am always amazed just how someone can paint such a huge painting like this while standing so close in a cherry picker.
This was another one that was difficult to photograph because of the sheer size of the building and trying to get the best angle in spite of the other buildings around it.
I loved the fact that the scooter was in the picture just to show the scale of the building.
The size of these paintings always impresses me. I don't see the concept the artist is depicting here, but I really appreciate the mastery it takes to make something of this size. Good shot!
