Sorry I am a bit absent at the moment. Had a couple of busy days.
As I walked along the beach to the marina a couple of days ago I noticed this new sign, it makes interesting reading.
Luckily our beaches are generally quite clean and people tend to take their litter home with them. As we live outside the tourist area our local beach is always pristine. If any litter is left there is always someone to pick it up.
As there are a lot of people out on boats here though I suppose they could throw their rubbish overboard, where the pelicans, dolphins and turtles ingest it or get caught on fishing lines and hooks.
What a great sign, we could certainly use it for our beaches here as they are a mess sometimes. There are groups of private people who organize regular beach clean ups during the summer months.
I really wish we pushed recycling more. It's great to produce packaging etc. that's more eco friendly but there are still things which can't be stored that way- like oil for your car. But you can still recycle those containers! I love how some companies now take old tires and repurpose the rubber for playground coverings- after cleaning it of course! Anyway- it's a good sign to make people more mindful- IF they read it!
For us, itâs the riversâŚwhich flow to the ocean. We have to have a great big Clean Up at the end of every summer. We could use some of those signs posted.
