The Anchorage and Marina by onewing

The Anchorage and Marina

It is a chilly wet day today so I am not venturing out for a walk. Whatever happened to Spring.

I took this photo on Sunday as I walked along the breakwater by the marina. The Anchorage Resort is still looking quite sad and empty. It must be costing the owners a fortune to have it just sitting there without any visitors.

There are about 80 rooms at a cost of between $300 and $800 a night.
What a beautiful scene. Such a shame that it's currently empty though.

This happens to so many hotel owners, not a easy time.

Stunning capture of this gorgeous scene. Do they have it on a special for local residents? That is what quite a few top restaurants, game reserves and holiday destinations do when the tourists are not around.

@jamibann It looks so sad being deserted.

@yaorenliu @peadar @wakelys @pcoulson @happysnaps @gosia @dutchothotmailcom @joansmor The resort was only just recovering after the last lockdown and now it is in lockdown again.

@pusspup It was a beautiful day on Sunday when I took this photo, but back to a winter day today.

@casablanca There were flowers as I walked home again and I took a couple of pictures of different coloured grevillea I will post them when I get over the last week of flower photos, ha ha.

@leggzy Freezing here today too, we had our wood burner lit most of the day and that doesn't happen often at this time of year. Rain all day and thunder tonight too

Lovely looking marina, long time since I went on a boat or yacht, although I took part in some big yacht racing in the 60's. FAV

It is very quiet with no visitors.

@olivetreeann It is an expensive resort but I suppose if you can afford to moor your boat at the marina you don't have to worry about money. The average cost of a motel in our area is around $150 a night normally

@ludwigsdiana That’s a good idea since locals are looking for a way to escape home for a short time also.

Being out on a boat seems safe from covid if you’re careful about who you bring. Beautiful shot. Love the comp the way the boats line the path to the building.

Beautiful scene. The time of isolation for owners is doubly difficult.
