Today's street art is at the rear of a secondhand book shop on Hunter Street in Newcastle. The owner of the shop has a friend who he commissioned to paint the graffiti on the wall of his shop.

@iwatts Thanks Ian, so pleased you like them. Some of the artworks are recent and are part of a festival in Newcastle in November called Hit the Bricks. At 13 different locations around Newcastle street artists were given an area to paint over a 2 day period and the majority of these shots are a result of that festival. this one though was just commissioned by the owner of a book shop on Hunter Street.
Newcastle is a very old city and some parts of the centre are in need of brightening up. I think these artworks certainly do that.
