Static Boiler by onewing

Static Boiler

According to my husband this is a ‘Trevor’ oil fired boiler from a Bellis & Morcom stationary steam engine that powered Ruoak Timbers’ Sawmill at Alexandra in Victoria.

Not a lot of people know that!

Great shot Babs, lovely pov, focus and depth of field, Looks like your husband has to much time on his hands, get him a camera for Christmas and on to the 365 project, I for one would learn loads;)

Well, guess he's know! Like the perspective that makes it look so dominant at the front.

@pcoulson Thanks Peter, but trust me he doesn't have too much time on his hands. He is secretary of our photo club and is a mad steam and train enthusiast too, plus lots of other things along the way. He is an engineer and he has two main camera's a Nikon D90 and a Nikon 5100 plus lots of huge lenses to go with them. He is getting a new camera for his birthday too, but can't decide on which one yet. He thought about joining 365, but doesn't have time to commit to it at the moment. He does have some pics of Flickr though. His main interest in photography is astromomy related and he takes pics of the moon, orion, horsehead nebula, jupiter etc with his camera attached to the telescope.

@gigiflower @beryl @joeyc @angelar @peter_1966 @darthkitty @karlow75 @eyesmile @dianeburns @happypat @paulaw @dolphin Thanks everyone, where would we be without David. I just look at these things and take pictures, but he always goes one further and has to find out its history. He is mad on old trains and any engineering type equipment. It takes hours to get him out of a museum etc. (I have to take a book to read while I am waiting for him), ha ha.

@onewing Trevor, Arthur or even Martha, I don't mind. I just like the shot Babs. All these old industrial artefacts fascinate me.

I knew that! LOL

@golftragic . @kathiecb Thanks. I'll believe you Kathie, many wouldn't. David had to look it up. He knew it was a static boiler, but being a bloke has to find out all the details to go with it too. Alexandra is quite a historic place for tramway equipment etc.

Fabulous find. It looks as if it's been standing there for a long, long while! Good that you have someone who can give you the background!
