Along the waterfront at Tea Gardens are a number of communal gas barbeques and picnic areas and the sides of the barbeques are decorated with mosaics.
Tea Gardens is a very arty village and I believe the mosaics are done by local residents. Who can identify all of the birds in this display?
Thanks to everyone who commented on my photo yesterday of the houseboats. I am sorry for not replying individually, but as usual we are pretty busy at the moment.
Off out tonight for dinner and our weekly Trivia Night at the tavern.
Okay, I'll have a go: crimson rosella; sulphur-crested cockatoo; rainbow lorikeet; eastern rosella; crested pigeon; Leeuwins honeyeater; masked lapwing; the last one is possibly a fairy wren but not absolutely sure.
Love the mosaic; such a lot of work has gone into it.
@girlie Thanks Robin. Had to get out the bird book to check a couple of them, but David and I reckon. 1, Crimson rosella, 2 sulphur crested cockatoo, 3. male king parrot, (you said rainbow lorikeet, but they have a blue head) 4. Eastern rosella, 5, crested pigeon, 6. We think that one is a white eared honeyeater, 7 masked lapwing and the last one 8. we think may be a superb fairy wren. So well done.
Such a lot of work gone into the mosaics here.
Pretty sure the one I mistakenly called the Lleeuwin Honeyeater is a New Holland Honeyeater (not a white-eared) and, yes, agree it's a King Parrot. Thanks for your response.

I have never seen one. David is the bird person in our house and I just relied on our bird book for that one
