Drove through Downtown today and had to stop at the Art & Industrial District for my Street Shot for the SPN challenge. Its an old part of Downtown that has been taken over by artists and craftsmen. I found this street art on a wall of a building that is scheduled to be torn down within 3 months. Out with the old and in with the new, I guess!
Its hard to see from just the thumb nail, but there was is a man sleeping against the wall and, to me, it looked like this giant creature was standing guard as the man slept. The creature has a small dog at its feet, perfect for the four legged theme for the challenge!
Jerry, this is amazing. Your composition couldn't be better. I wonder how many people will read the full story as it's really quite sad that a man is sleeping there. Even at full size he doesn't stand out because wall the image is so imposing. Brilliant photo.
I am glad I did read the whole story or I would never have seen that man on the ground. He blends right in. This is a very dramatic shot for me, the clouds couldn't look better. Fav for me.
That guy is very well camouflaged. I had to magnify and really search for him. Isn't it a shame that the wall can't stay. The artwork is amazing. Well done for capturing it xx
What an amazing capture! THanks for pointing out the sleeping man, he is almost camouflaged - The sleeping man also really helps give some perspective on the enormous size of the painted figure. THe title is great, I agree with your analysis of the figure looking like a guardian. BIG FAV for me on this one!
