The tones and texture is one thing I really like about your photo's. It feels like you can reach out and touch it...do you use a particular editing programme to get the effect?
Thank you, Scott! I use Photomatix pro for the HDR then clean it up in Photoshop CS5. Both of these offer a free 30 day trial so you can mess around with them and see how you like it!
@orangecrush was it a single image that you played with in Photomatix? I've got the software but I've not taught myself what I can do with it properly yet.
Great shot, the facade looks beautiful! (But my eye keeps returning to that lovely poster in the window display. And then I get this disturbing idea of scribbling "Awesome B&W shot! Great tones! Love it!" on a sticky note and leaving it there. Like a crazy 365er who has completely lost her fragile grasp on reality. 8D )
This made me laugh! I tried to imagine the looks you would have gotten if you went inside with your camera. Not good to embarrass the girls. I think your time was very well spent outside. I really like your perspective and the lines of the building on this one. The glimpse of the model in pretty undies is sweet!
@jlhopgood ;P I use three exposures, -2, 0, +2. The program is so easy really! I set my camera on AV and set the drive mode to high-speed continuous so I can shoot the three hand held! In Photomatix I check the ghosting and then let it do its thing. The final adjustments are pretty simple. I set the strength way up, pretty much leave the rest in the middle. The most important thing is the lighting mode. Far left will give you that crazy HDR effect and far right makes it look most natural. Depending on the shot, I usaully stay fairly close to the right or let of center. Press ok and it does the rest! After that its all about post procesing in what ever program you use! Fun!
