Heartwood Forest-the beginning.

Wonderful day and spent some time at Heartwood Forest in Hertfordshire, just north of St Albans. This 858 acres site is former farmland and currently has 300,000 native trees planted in it with a further 300,000 planned. Amazing to think that in 400 years this will be seen as ancient. Great place to wander, certainly on a day like today.
Lovely story, lovely composition. I just love trees!

Nice pov and sunshine shot. Hope that all our efforts to leave some of the nature behind for our children and children's children is paying off.

Great shot and fantastic to think all those trees have been and are going to be planted!

I like the angle and those little harmless clouds in the blue sky.

It's great to see trees being planted. We don't have enough trees left on our planet. Thank you for the story too, and this is a nice photo.

Magnificent that someone has the foresight to do this for our children's, children's, children's children...
