I found a tree covered with large “Chicken of the Woods” mushrooms today. It also goes by the name Sulphur Shelf, Chicken Mushroom, Rooster Comb. It grows in large clumps and is considered a fabulous find by fungi foragers! It is said to taste like chicken:) (I would not touch this or eat it!)
This looks sort of like ones I'm seeing on trees here. The ones here are thicker and a little more red. I wonder if they are the same. I love this shot -- beautifully captured.
