16th July 2015 - You talking to me?

We went to the beach of Haverigg today which is near the town of Millom. Finlay enjoyed his walk along the lovely beach and we were the only people there. How wonderful to find places which are not heaving with people as was Windermere yesterday when we drove through!! The sun was shining and it was a beautiful warm day. A really good last day of our holiday. Yes home tomorrow - doesn't time fly when you are having fun!! I have loved our week in Cumbria
As we walked back to the car I spotted this Jackdaw in the long grass blowing in the wind. What beautiful blue eyes he has.

Definitely best on black!!

Many thanks for all your great comments and favs on yesterday's shots two of which reached the PP. So pleased you liked the shots.

So pleased to see this shot on the PP! Thanks for getting it there!
Lovely sharp focus on that bird with attitude!

I hope you didn't venture tooooo far round the beach. There is a nudist beach along there. I attended Haverigg Primary School and Millom Comprehensive. I don't think I could live anywhere else. Safe journey home.

@motherjane If there were any nudists they were hiding in the sand dunes!! LOL!! No we didn't see anyone at all. I didn't see any signs - I thought they would have to have a warning sign up - they have one on Brighton beach.

Wonderful bird shot the way he is looking at you.

They are a very inquisitive and intelligent bird, but also quite a pest. They raid all the sheep and cattle troughs on our farm and have even learnt how to get into my squirrel feeders.

I have a Clattering of Jackdaws in my garden. That apparently is the collective noun for jackdaws, the alternative is a train.
