This morning I sat for an hour counting the birds who visited my garden for this years RSPB survey. There was a variety of birds but not as many as usual. Two goldfinches came and most days we see at least 13 on the feeders. You can see from the images that two robins visited - one has a white flash on his side. Not sure how you tell male or female with robins. I have tried to upload my collected data to the RSPB and their site seems to have crashed. It looks like everyone was trying to contact the RSPB this morning. A great survey to take part in and a most enjoyable hour.
Finlay of course was very interested in the birds and every time I picked up the camera he dashed out into the garden. The birds just ignore him now as they are used to his naughty behaviour!! LOL!!
Many thanks for your lovely comments and Favs on yesterday's image - very much appreciated!!
What a nice collection. We watched this morning as well. A shame that the flock of long tailed tits that have been visiting for the past two weeks failed to show today.
Suddenly it strikes me why the English wanted to import some birds with them to Australia! Look at your variety! I wouldn't look over my shoulder to say goodbye to the variety of "brown & grey" that WE get! Other animals make up for it, but they're nothing to write home about!
