I couldn't believe my eyes this morning as I sat in bed with my coffee reading my book. Finlay started barking and I looked up to see the sail sailing past the window down the narrow lane beside our garden. It was in fact someone from higher up the hill bringing his small boat down to the beach to go sailing. He parked the boat on the main road while he went for help. He came back with a young man who helped him pull the boat along the road to the entrance to the beach and then across the sand to the waters edge. It took a long time before he finally got the boat into the water and set off across the river. I have never seen someone put the sail up before they even reached the water!! Mind you I am not a sailer so what would I know. LOL! A fun start to the day!!
Many thanks for your lovely comments on my family shots - so ver much appreciated!!
I have to ask, what about the bottom of the boat? I would think it was scraped to pieces while he was dragging it on the road! Yes, quite a fun site to see!
@louannwarren@jgpittenger the boat was on a small trailer with 2 wheels and was being pulled down the lane beside our garden. I think the man thought he could manage on his own but it was very windy and the sail kept hitting the wall. He got it down to the main road and parked it and went back to get help. It was so funny to watch!
So funny seeing a sail go past. This is a laser. For little boats like this (and all the boats my boys sail) the sails are put up before they go into the water. Often the sails are shackled at the top, so need to be taken out of the water to get them down too.
