Garden View

For Rainbow 2018 - Green

This is the garden in the house in Instow, North Devon where we stay normally three times a year. It is just down the coast from Clovelly where my niece Ruth lives and we like to see her and her girls as often as we are able. It is a six hour drive from home but we love this house with the fabulous view across the river to Appledore. The beach is very dog friendly all year and Finlay loves it there. I am looking forward to seeing George on the beach for the first time when we go down at the end of April. My sister and I are really looking forward to going down for the first time this year as we haven't seen Ruth and the girls since last October.

Best on black

Many thanks for visiting my project and leaving such lovely comments - always appreciated!!
That looks like a beautiful spot to sit.

George will love his holiday here. I know the girls will be excited to see him too. They each will have a playmate now instead of having to share Finlay.

Wow, it is so green. I don't think we ever get green as bright as this here in Oz.

I would love to sit in that lovely spot and have a bit of wine while enjoying the view. I can see why you go back again and again! Beautiful!

Beautiful. I love that table and chairs at the bottom of the garden.

No wonder you return there when you can -- what a place to sit and relax! I like how the table and chairs are placed perfectly so that we can imagine the scene when you are sitting there and the dogs playing.

A lovely view & it looks like you are part of the beach, a shady place to sit out of the wind. Perfect!

Oh just beautiful, tranquil and serene! It even comes with a little white dog, I see! Quite perfect!

@taffy Its the perfect place to sit to watch the sun setting over Appledore across the river. Hopefully it will be warm enough to sit out end April early May and that we do in fact see the sun setting!! So many times the sun disappears behind a bank of cloud at the last minute!!

@happypat There is a narrow road between the end of the garden and the beach. There is a six foot drop over the wall down onto the road. I love sitting in the garden watching the people on the beach. So many dog walkers all day long. Its a lovely clean beach which has a tractor go along it every morning to push any seaweed out into the river. To the right you can see the river opening to the sea and Westward Ho is on the left facing the sea.

Hi Pam As you can tell I am taking a break from 365 but thought I should let you know that we will be in the UK from 16 May to 24 Jun. Will be based in Ealing London but will be making a few road trips around the countryside so we should be able to catch up.

Lovely view from that garden. It reminds of The Shire with all those rounded hills in the grass - no doubt hobbits live there! Or giant moles......

@terryliv That sounds great Terry it would be lovely to be able to meet up with you and Rhona!! Barb and I will be on holiday in Derbyshire from 15th to 22nd June. The rest of the time we will be home in Wellingborough, East Midlands. Let me know what your plans are and we can see if we can get together. I often meet up with Rosie @rosiekind and Sarah @piximac other 365'ers so not sure if you follow them but I am sure they would like to meet up while you are over here. We often meet in Woburn which is quite central for us.

@casablanca something certainly lives in those mounds as Finlay spends all his time with his nose down the little holes digging to make them bigger! Too small for rabbits so not sure what’s there but Finlay knows there is something alive down there! Now I will have two terriers hunting! Not sure what I would do if they actually caught something!
