Update: I have just caught two hedgehogs in the garden - again!! It must be the same two as yesterday surely!! I have taken them to the bottom of the hill and let them loose in the woods down there. Surely they won't find their way back to out garden again? Finlay and George are now hyper again after trying to attack them!!
After my exciting adventure last night catching three hedgehogs I thought back to my Nova Scotia holiday and the visit of the racoon. Thank goodness the hedgehogs are not this big!! Finlay and George would be having a field day trying to catch one of these and I think they would come off worse!!
What a beauty this racoon was - such a big boy with a beautiful tail. I love these gorgeous animals!! I was so pleased one came to visit on the last night of my holiday. Note the huge plate of food Louise @weezilou has put out for the racoons - they are very welcome visitors!!
I was just about to let George and Finlay into the garden for their last pee and decided I would put them on the lead just in case the three hedgehogs had come back home. In fact it is poring with rain so I let them go out off the lead. No barking so I am hopeful the hedgehogs have gone but perhaps they don't like rain? LOL!! I am hoping we get some cold weather soon so that they go into hibernation.
Many thanks for your great comments and good wishes on yesterday's image. I agree that it's lucky I am not in Australia with the possums visiting every night!!
Lovely tale Pam, made me smile. Fingers crossed for you with the hedgehogs. One of the problems with possums is that they leap on to the roof with a huge bang (middle of the night) so wake up all concerned anyway regardless of Maggie's aversion to their intrusion.
Hope your hedgehog adventurs have come to an end now!
